I love music.
My name is Laura Seymour.
I am a qualified teacher at a special needs school in BANES. I have been a SEN/D teacher for 7 years.
I have worked with pupils that have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) across the year groups at school, from primary up to post-16, ages 4-19.
Music is my passion and I am very excited to share a unique, therapeutic approach to music making without the need for referral.
I am eager to share with you the ways in which we can use music to further develop communication skills and, in turn, support social skills, patience, resilience and build confidence.

My Ethos:
I care deeply about the wellbeing of others and believe that I am a positive, calm person. In addition to this I feel that I am able to adapt quickly to the needs of others.
I believe that every person is a unique individual that is special, and that they should be celebrated for who they are. I enjoy helping others find an area of interest and love watching them flourish.
I am able to adapt my strategies to establish the boundaries with those involved, and work hard to be consistent so that each person knows what is acceptable and what is not whilst attending the sessions. I believe that this helps everyone involved to feel safe and secure.
I have a huge interest in pastoral care and strive to meet the need of those attending the sessions.
I believe that music is for everyone, and I am looking forward to work with you and support you in your journey!
